Lifeguard - I wish I had oils when...

I was a lifeguard for three years when I was in high school and I absolutely loved every part of it.  From the lifeguard training (CPR, swim tests, etc.) to the fun in the sun with my friends, I had an absolute blast.

Although this could be opening a huge can of worms with why I needed oils back-in-the-day I'm specifically going to focus on something that affects all of us, not just a lifeguard - sun exposure.

Not only was I outside all day, but I would purposefully do things to soak in the rays.  I used to use lemon juice or hydrogen peroxide in my hair to lighten it (it totally worked, by the way) as well as the even dumber choice of using baby oil to speed up that nice golden dark tan.  What can I say.  I was young and if I'm being honest, pretty stupid.

Which leads me to my topic: Lifeguard - I wish I had oils when...

With all that sun exposure, if I could go back in time, I would tell my younger, dark complected self, "You look gorgeous!"  Just kidding, although teaching my younger self about self image would be a great topic for another blog.  Okay in all seriousness I would share some great tips on how to handle my skin, especially after overdoing it.

Lavender, Melaleuca, and Peppermint are super calming to the skin after a long day in the sun.

Here's a great after sun spray that's soothing and works!

I might just have to do another blog post on this too, but the other thing I would tell myself is to use Frankincense everyday.  Seriously - DAILY!  Now-a-days I start my day off with Frankincense, 1 drop under my tongue.  I get it a couple other ways throughout my day too, but at least I know I'm getting one drop per day at a minimum.
Why?  Well I'm so glad you're still reading and want to know.  There are studies showing that cancer can't thrive in an environment with Frankie boy.

Thankfully I haven't had any issues yet, but if I could've started that preventative measure back in high school I would feel even better about my choices (or lack there of).  Not to mention I more than likely would've have endured all the trauma I put my body through in high school, but again...a post for another day.
