Roller Recipes - FIRST AID & RELIEF

Although applying essential oils to the skin allows the oils to absorb into the bloodstream and travel throughout the body, using essential oils topically to target and support a specific need is not only easy, but very effective. Topical application provides nearly instantaneous and noticeable benefits. Essential oils provide powerful cleansing and purifying properties that can help soothe, cleanse, purify, and support many of bodies needs.

Over the last few weeks we've talked about using essential oils in roller recipes for various needs: afflictions, beauty, and emotional. Today we're going to cover a few first aid and relief type recipes.

ESSENTIAL OIL SAFETY
Even when diluted and applied topically it's important to remember that essential oils vary in their chemical makeup and are protenant. More dilution is required when using essential oils with young kids, elderly, and those with sensitive skin. If you're specifically making any of the above blends for someone with a potential to have more sensitivity at a minimum cut the recipe in half, but I would lean on the side of caution and only do 1/4 of the recipe.

SENSITIVE AREAS TO AVOID
Injured, broken or damaged skin
Inner ears
Eyes and skin surrounding eyes
Genitals

*Remember water and oil don't mix, so if you get an essential oil in an sensitive area use a carrier oil to dilute (yes, even in the eye, just dab a carrier oil into the corner of your eye) - do NOT use water.
