Welcome abōde

As of late 2020, there are about 85,000 chemicals in personal care and cleaning products sold on the consumer market, and about 2,500 new chemicals are introduced every year!  Very few of these chemicals have had adequate toxicological studies to evaluate their health effects on humans and wildlife.

According to the Environmental Working Group, on average, the typical person is exposed to over 120 chemicals through personal care items alone. What’s worse? Most of these chemicals bioaccumulate, meaning they build up in our tissue, because our body doesn’t know how to process the foreign chemicals. Over time we typically start to experience health issues. Something as seemingly small as dry skin or a headache to more serious health issues, as extreme as autoimmune diseases and beyond.

The EPA shows scientific evidence indicating that the air within homes and other buildings can be up to 10 times more polluted than outdoor air, even in the largest and most industrialized cities. This is caused by harmful chemicals and materials. Other research indicates that most people spend about 90% of their time indoors – thus a greater exposure to that toxic air pollution.

4 Ways to Reduce Toxic Exposure:
1. Reduce products containing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) – these can cause difficulty breathing, nausea, damage to the nervous system, and more. Common products include aerosol sprays, air fresheners, cleaners and disinfectants.
2. Make your own non-toxic cleaners – vinegar and baking soda are inexpensive and effective alternatives. I, of course, would boost their potency and add a pleasant aroma using dōTERRA essential oils.😉
3. Avoid synthetic fragrances – they contain carcinogens, allergens, respiratory irritants, endocrine disruptors, neurotoxic chemicals, and environmental toxicants. Plus over 1,100 chemicals hide behind the word "fragrance" that's found in personal care and cleaning products.
4. Buy products from trusted companies, like dōTERRA – that use clean ingredients that are disclosed.

Imagine being able to clean your home without worrying about the products you’re using. And if you’ve been making homemade cleaning items, imagine the simplicity and ease of having what you need delivered to your door instead of having to take the time to mix it all yourself…

Introducing the new dōTERRA abōde™ line!

The abōde™ line is free from:
Parabens Formaldehyde (and donors)
PEGs
Dyes
Triclosan
Synthetic fragrances
Phthalates
Silicones
Petroleum-derived ingredients
Propylene glycol

The new dōTERRA abōde™ line is truly a household staple. The line consists of multipurpose surface cleaner concentrate, dish soap, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, hand wash, hand lotion, and a beautiful essential oil blend.

The abōde™ Refreshing Blend contains Lime, Litsea, Cassia, Lemon Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Arborvitae, Kochii Eucalyptus, Cilantro, Lavandin, and Lemon Myrtle. While each of these single oils have individual cleansing properties, the benefits are uniquely magnified when combined into one potent, dynamic blend.

In addition to the beautiful aroma it was clinically tested for it’s effectiveness over the most common household germs and bacteria. dōTERRA continues to make strides with being environmentally conscious with this new line as well – utilizing Post-Consumer Recycles (PCR) materials for their packaging and going to a cleaner concentrate model to avoid shipping water.

To continue to add to the wow factor, dōTERRA has designed gorgeous reusable amber glass bottles to be used with the new abōde™ line. They feature brushed metal pumps topping durable glass bottles making them functional, sustainable, beautifully designed and aesthetically pleasing.

Not only does the abōde™ oil blend provide a fresh, citrus aroma, it’s also a cleaning powerhouse, effectively cutting through grease, grime, and hard water buildup on household surfaces. Let's see what the rest of the abōde™ line has to offer, as we break each one of these new products (multipurpose cleaner, dish soap, dishwasher & laundry pods, and hand wash & lotion) down.

MULTIPURPOSE CLEANER
Sold as a concentrate it minimizes unnecessary shipments of water and thus reduces the carbon footprint for shipping. Simply pour the concentrate into the glass spray bottle and fill the remaining space with clean water.

LIQUID DISH SOAP
This extra-strength dish soap has the new abōde™ oil blend plus Grapefruit essential oil for extra sparkle and power against tough greasy messes.

FOAMING HAND WASH & HAND LOTION
The foaming hand wash is sold as a concentrate in an aluminum bottle with enough for two refills of the glass bottle. The silky hand lotion formula contains moisturizers and humectants that leave the skin feeling supple and nourished. Both the hand wash and lotion are currently infused with the very popular Citrus Bloom® essential oil blend. There are rumors dōTERRA will be releasing both the hand wash and hand lotion in additional aromas too, so we'll have options to match our mood or seasons. Yay!

DISHWASHER PODS
These convenient dishwasher pods are formulated with abōde™ for an effective product you'll never want to go without. Simply place a pod in the appropriate place and run your dishwasher as normal.

LAUNDRY PODS
Throw a pod (or two for large loads) into the bottom of your washing machine, add clothes, and run your usual or preferred cycle for the job. No hassle and, of course, toxin-free! Make sure to keep your laundry toxin-free by eliminating dry sheets - try a wool dryer ball instead. You can even add a couple drops of the abōde™ oil blend on them or use your favorite essential oil.

Imagine feeling confident in your household cleaners. Knowing that it’s working to keep your home clean without toxins and the ease factor as it arrives at your doorstep in environmentally conscious packaging. Aren't you ready to try the new abōde™ line? I'm certainly here to help answer any additional questions you might have, but the bottom line is you'll have to try them for yourself... and you'll be glad you did!
