Movember: Men's Health Guide

Movember is far more than just a quirky annual tradition of men putting away their razors at letting their facial hair flourish. It’s a global movement. In fact, Movember originated in Melbourne, Australia, in 2003 when a group of friends decided to bring back the mustache as a way to spark engagement from others and used it as a means of discussing men's health. Today, the mustache has become a symbol of solidarity.  Men growing mustaches during November helps to raise awareness and funds for health issues affecting men, particularly prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health.


Testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men aged 15-34, while prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men globally. Movember encourages men to take charge of their own health, emphasizing the importance of regular screenings and self-examinations.


In addition, Movember tackles the often-stigmatized topic of mental health. The month-long campaign encourages open conversations about the mental well-being of men, addressing issues like depression, anxiety, and suicide prevention.
