Mind-Body Tune-Up Pt.1: Morning Momentum

Your morning sets the stage for the entire day. It’s more than just rolling out of bed and reaching for coffee—your first moments are golden opportunities to nourish, align, and energize both mind and body. Whether you're juggling a busy schedule or working on improving your health, a gentle, purposeful morning ritual can create clarity, boost metabolism, and elevate your mood from the inside out.

In this first part of the Mind-Body Tune-Up series, let’s dive into how to build Morning Momentum with a mindful, quick wellness stack incorporating movement, music, and essential oil support.

MORNING WELLNESS STACK
If time is tight, this wellness stack is your go-to. In less than 10 minutes, you can jumpstart digestion, mental clarity, vitality and more.

Brush Teeth & Tongue Scraping
Brushing teeth eliminates bacteria and removes plaque buildup from overnight. While tongue scraping is an Ayurvedic ritual that helps remove toxins that accumulate on the tongue overnight. It can also improve taste sensation, and it stimulates digestive organs through reflex points on the tongue. Using a stainless-steel tongue scraper (or copper if you prefer traditional materials), gently scrape from back to front 5–7 times.

Good Mornings 
Good Mornings are a hinge-based movement that mimics bowing forward, often used to warm up the body, strengthen the posterior chain (back side of the body), and improve flexibility in the hamstrings and hips. They're named for the motion that certain cultures and ages ago one might make when politely bowing to say “good morning.” The modern-day head nod isn’t going to do the trick. Tee-hee!

  • Stand with feet hip-width apart, keep a slight bend in your knees, place hands on hips for stability.Fold forward and stretch your hamstrings.
  • Pull your belly in slightly to support your lower back and keep your spine long and chest open.
  • Slowly push your hips backward as you fold your upper body forward, keep your back straight, like a tabletop—not rounded, and lower your torso until it’s about parallel with the floor or as far as your flexibility allows.
  • Hold the bottom position for 1–2 seconds.
  • Return to starting position.
  • Repeat for 8-10 controlled reps.

Last, rehydrate your body with a warm cup of lemon water. Add fresh-squeezed lemon juice to warm (not hot) filtered water or use one drop of doTERRA Lemon oil.
